Imagine your toddler climbing a small step to get into your home or their Grandparent's home. They may be walking along with a sence of confidence, but their natural instinct is to reach out to hold on to something for balance when climbing even the shortest of steps. This is the main reason for trapped little fingers in the hinge side of external doors and also the reason behind the child safety zone hand rail.
More than 40,000 children a year in the UK aged between 0-8 visit Hospital due to injuries to fingers caused by doors. The hinge side of the door causes some 60% of the injuries and is the most common cause of injuries in the under 5s.
This child’s safety support rail is designed to support a toddler leaving and entering external doorways with anything from a 2 to 10 inch step. The support rail protrudes from the frame approximately 50mm allowing the toddler a suitable alternative hand support to negotiate front/back step of your home
