Pressure Fitted: 

Pressure Fitting Stair Gates are very popular amongst parents. These safety gates are very easy to install.  The spindles at the top and bottom of each side of the gate are twisted outwards until the fit is secured.  Pressure fitting gates offer the benefit of being portable, in that they can be easily moved between openings.  Pressure fitting gates do come with Wall Cups which can be fixed by adhesive pads or screws to the wall or banister, and offer further peace of mind.  For increased safety all manufacturers recommend the use of wall cups with their pressure fitting gates.

Due to the potential trip hazard of the bottom bar which is required for the pressure fit, pressure fitting gates must not be fitted at the top of stairs.                                        

Two Way Opening:

This stair gate can be opened both towards you and away from you. The Bettacare gate has a widget on the bottom bar which can be set and changed to allow the gate to open either towards you or away from you as required.

Double Locking Mechanism:

For additional child safety, helping to prevent inquisitive toddlers opening the gate, this gate has the benefit of double locking mechanism. 

Self Testing Pressure Indicator:

The BabyDan Self Testing Pressure Indicator is a patented system which warns the user if there is insufficient pressure applied.  When the Indicator warns of insufficient pressure, the user can simply re-tighten the spindles.  This allows BabyDan Indicator gates to be fit without the use of wall cups.  The indicators are built into the handle so is clear to see every time the gate is opened.                                                                                                  .

How to measure for your gate;

To ensure you buy the right gate and extension combination, you will need to take two measurements.

1.   Floor level - Measure the space to be filled at floor level.  This may be wall to wall, skirting board to skirting board, etc

2.   Top of Gate - Measure the space to be filled 75cm above floor level.

Both of the measurements taken (Floor Level and Top of Gate), must fit within the same width range.  Make sure you enter the narrowest width in the gate finder above and check that both your measurements fit within the width range given.

It's easy to fit, easy to open (even one-handed), and swings closed with a smooth motion. There is quite a loud click when the door actually shuts, but that's a really minor downside to a wonderful product. The Stair Gate Finder is a really useful tool, especially when you have a narrow doorway to close off. I had spent hours looking for an extra narrow gate on other websites before a friend recommended safetots.co.uk.

Great, easy to assemble and secure. A good buy. Click nice and loud on gate so you know its shut but a minor annoyance when you have to go into childs room at night.
