How to measure for your gate;

To ensure you buy the right gate and extension combination, you will need to take two measurements.

1.   Floor level - Measure the space to be filled at floor level.  This may be wall to wall, skirting board to skirting board, etc

2.   Top of Gate - Measure the space to be filled 75cm above floor level.

Both of the measurements taken (Floor Level and Top of Gate), must fit within the same width range given in the table below.

Pressure Fitted: 

Pressure Fitting Stair Gates are very popular amongst parents. These safety gates are very easy to install.  The spindles at the top and bottom of each side of the gate are twisted outwards until the fit is secured.  Pressure fitting gates offer the benefit of being portable, in that they can be easily moved between openings.  Pressure fitting gates do come with Wall Cups which can be fixed by adhesive pads or screws to the wall or banister, and offer further peace of mind.  For increased safety all manufacturers recommend the use of wall cups with their pressure fitting gates. Due to the potential trip hazard of the bottom bar which is required for the pressure fit, pressure fitting gates must not be fitted at the top of stairs.

Push to Shut:

Unlike an auto-closing gate, a push to shut or slam shut gate requires the gate to be initially pushed towards the frame for the locking action to function.

One handed adult release:

All stair gates are designed for adults to use with one hand, so that baby can be held safely in arms at the same time at the same time as using the gate.  As toddlers get older, parents may become concerned they are able to operate a simple one handed release mechanismand gain access to out of bound areas.  In these instances it is recommended to look for a gate with a double or triple locking mechanism

Triple Opening Action:

To deter more inquisitive tolders, the triple opening action has been developed to require an adult only release of the gate from the frame.

Double Locking Mechanism:

For additional child safety, helping to prevent inquisitive toddlers opening the gate, this gate has the benefit of double locking mechanism, which requires two seperate actions to open the gate.

One or Two Way Opening:

This stair gate can be set to open towards you, away from you, or to swing open in both directions.  It provides the maximum flexibility for use of your gate

This gate is very easy to fit and is easily opened using just one hand, we had to buy an extension piece for our wider stairs but again this was very easy to fit to the gate, i will probably be buyng another one of these for the bottom as it is a lot more sturdier than our existing one, very good gate for the price and delivery was quick from safetots
