The first few days at home with a newborn baby can be a wonderful time but also fraught with worry that your bundle of joy is safe and healthy. At some point you’ll need to get some sleep, or be apart from your child, but you’ll still want to monitor that they’re okay. This is where newborn baby monitors come into their own.Monitoring your newborn baby while they sleep
The main problem any parent faces with a newborn is getting little or no sleep and rest. This is usually because the baby is crying and keeping you awake or you’re worrying that the baby is breathing and moving properly when you’re out of the room.
There will always be times when it’s not possible to be with your baby twenty-four hours of the day but how do you stop worrying that your little one is okay when you’re not around offering care and observation. This is where a newborn baby monitor is an essential tool to keep you in contact and make you aware of your baby’s needs.
Baby breathing monitors
New parents spend hours regularly checking that their baby is breathing properly while sleeping. This can become obsessive and disrupt your ability to rest or sleep. A baby breathing monitor can help you keep tabs on your infant’s breathing patterns when you’re not in the room. These devices are recommended for premature babies and for parents who have previously lost a child to cot death.
The monitor clips onto the baby’s nappy and unobtrusively monitors your baby’s breathing. If any irregularities occur, a built-in tummy-tickle device will gently vibrate and stir your baby enough to make them resume breathing. If breathing doesn’t resume, an alarm will sound to alert you.

Being able to see your baby moving is another cause of distress for new parents. Movement and subtle crying cannot always be detected unless you’re in the room with your infant. A baby movement monitor detects all of your baby’s movements, even the slightest breaths so you can keep check on them when you’re elsewhere in the home.
A mattress sensor pad will monitor and alert you should there be no movement for 20 seconds (or more if you adjust the settings).

With the latest digital technology, baby monitors now offer the facility for you to keep a visual eye on your baby via a video feed. Baby video monitors have a wealth of features including night vision and remote activation of soothing music and sounds to get your baby back to sleep without disturbing them.
