The spring/summer months mean it’s time to pack up and head off for a short break but that doesn’t mean you have to be without all the essential toddler equipment that you’re used to at home. If you’re travelling with a toddler for a weekend trip or longer, there’s a great range of products to keep you and your tot safe and happy. In this article, we run through some of those toddler travelling essentials.Toddler car products
Getting there is half the fun but not if you have an unhappy infant in the back seat. The car journey is usually the first stage of any short break or holiday so consider some of these products to get your trip off to a smooth start.
“Can I have my toys?”, “Where’s my crayons?”, “I need a drink”
If you spend most of your car journey rooting around in a bag looking for these things to keep your child happy you may find a Side-Rider is the perfect companion for your toddler. This strong and secure basket attaches to the side of a car seat giving your child a safe place to store all their stuff and within easy reach.
Keeping one eye on the road and one eye on your toddler while driving is difficult, not to mention dangerous. A rear view mirror doesn’t provide a clear view of the back seat and turning round isn’t an option so an Easy View Mirror is the perfect solution for checking up on what’s happening behind you without losing sight of what’s happening ahead.
What’s a car journey without the ‘thud, thud, thud’ of your precious one kicking the back of your seat? Well, you can’t do much to prevent that (short of tying them down), but we can offer a way of protecting the back of your car seat from scuffs and shoe prints. The Basic Comfort Seat Back ties to the headrest and attaches to the bottom of the seat with Velcro.
Wandering toddler hands have a tendency to wander places where they shouldn’t such as the seat belt fastening. Detaching the seat belt is a safety nightmare but the Amadeus Seat Belt Safety Guard is designed to prevent the accidental release of the seat belt.

Sometimes a pushchair or buggy isn’t practical for getting about with your toddler once you’ve arrived at your destination so a toddler carrier is the ideal solution. And if you’re looking for a carrier that converts to a backpack when your tot wants to get out and run around, the Littlelife Ultralight Convertible Carrier doubles as a bag for all their nappies, wipes and clothes and a comfortable ergonomic seat for carrying your toddler.

Holiday toddler products
Bathing, feeding, sleeping and safety are just as important when you’re away from home. Whether you’re staying in a holiday home, hotel or at a friend’s place, you can’t guarantee the right equipment will be available for your toddler so there’s some great products available that are portable enough to take with you.Bathing
If you’re camping or spending time somewhere that doesn’t have proper bathing facilities, a portable bath creates a tub big enough for newborns and toddlers. Compact and easily assembled, the Newborn to Toddler Fold Away Portable Bath is the ideal space-saving alternative for bath time.

As with bathing, feeding routine is important for creating a stress-free holiday but taking your normal high chair just isn’t practical. You need a way to transform a normal chair into a feeding chair so a portable booster seat is the solution. A great product that is ultra-portable is the inflatable booster seat. Quickly turning any dining chair into a safe place for your toddler to eat, this seat self-inflates to provide a sturdy full-size booster seat for mealtimes.

Keeping your toddler’s sleeping routine as normal as possible when on holiday will make your time away stress free and relaxing. A travel cot that can be used indoors or out provides a safe and secure environment for your infant to sleep in. Travel cots are also ultra-portable so will not take up much space in the car.If you’re staying somewhere where the likelihood of insect bites or mosquito bites is high, this plug-in unit emits an odourless scent that’s effective against biting insects but harmless to humans.

Childproofing a holiday home or temporary accommodation should be a priority when arriving at a destination with your toddler. Portable stair gates create an enclosed environment quickly and easily and come complete with their own carry case for packing away and storing. At home, you’ve probably got all your plug sockets covered to prevent little fingers going where they shouldn’t. If you’re in Europe on holiday the sockets are different so pack these socket covers to protect your child.
